Job Summary
Under direct supervision, maintains a watch on County owned or
operated buildings. Periodically patrols assigned building or
buildings. Checks any signs of unauthorized entry, or for
possibility of fire or other dangers to the building security.
Reports any problems to the appropriate authorities. May be
assigned to perform radio communication and dispatch duties. Shift
assignments include nights, weekends, holidays and may require
relief work on another shift. Utilizes current Countywide and/or
department specific software to complete assignments.
Minimum Qualifications

At the time of application, applicants must:
1. Be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate or have a
certificate of successful completion of the General Educational
Development Test.
2. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or
chauffeur's license. Out of Country driver's license holders will
be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan
driver's license before the hire date.
3. Have not been convicted of a violation of criminal law.
(Criminal law generally includes all offenses except traffic law,
conservation law and liquor law. In general, conviction for a
violation of criminal law is automatically disqualifying).
NOTE: Any conviction or convictions for moving traffic violations,
accidents, non-moving traffic violations, suspension or revocation
of any driving license or violations of other laws will be reviewed
before an applicant can be appointed.
NOTE: Candidates must be in physical condition that permits
standing or walking for extended periods of time.
4. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical,
established for this classification.
5. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.Work
