our client’s expectations. What You Will Be Doing As a Janitorial
Area Manager with RNA Facilities Management, you will oversee daily
custodial operations across multiple facilities to ensure
exceptional standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer
satisfaction. In this role, leadership plays a central part as you
train, coach, and evaluate staff while also managing schedules,
inventory, and timekeeping. Regular building inspections help you
maintain strong quality control, address issues proactively, and
support continuous improvement. You also serve as a key point of
contact for clients, responding quickly to concerns and ensuring
full alignment with company procedures, health and safety
requirements, and operational goals. Frequent travel throughout
your assigned territory is essential as you support teams, manage
projects, and meet customer needs. The Area Manager will support
Southeastern and West Michigan. This region includes Holland,
Battle Creek, Jonesville, and Toledo. Janitorial Area Manager
Duties & Responsibilities Plan, participate in, and oversee the
work of all custodial staff, by maintaining a high standard of
safety, cleanliness, and efficiency. Establish and administers work
schedules and procedures for the regular, ongoing custodial care
based on customer requirements, within specified periods. Provide
training for new hires and remedial training for current employees
in proper custodial procedures including promoting best cleaning
practices. Supervise, lead, motivate, and develop employees within
assigned duties to include evaluating the performance of assigned
staff on a regular basis. Maintain and manage scheduling and
training of custodial staff to include covering shifts as needed
and monitoring and approving timekeeping records of assigned staff.
Ensure employees have necessary equipment and supplies to carry out
their tasks by maintaining an appropriate inventory, reviewing
equipment reports to ensure proper operation and reporting the need
for repairs, and transporting/delivering supplies as needed.
Conduct routine inspections of client facilities by physically
walking entire building externally and internally for quality
control checks to ensure all standard requirements for cleanliness
are met and consult with direct supervisor to develop improvement
action plan as needed and implement corrective action when
necessary. Respond promptly to customer complaints, requests, and
issues, documenting the issue and following up with resolution.
Meet with facility leads on regular basis to discuss any building
issues or concerns. Ensure team members have a clear understanding
of the customer requirements and expectations. Communicate company
initiatives, procedures, and directions to team members in a timely
manner. Ensure Health and Safety requirements are followed and
maintained and reports any issues or employee injuries to direct
supervisor and safety manager. Assist with account start-ups under
the guidance of Director of Operations. Contribute to cleaning
teams efforts and the clients’ goals and objectives. Communicate
regularly, direct concerns, feedback, questions, and reports to
manager. Maintain a professional working relationships with
co-workers and clients regarding building issues and needs, project
status, follow up of work orders, etc. Ensure compliance of laws
and procedures of RNA Facilities Management. Model
non-discriminatory practices in all work-related activities. Travel
to and from client buildings as assigned. Manage special project
work as requested. Attend training sessions as required. Maintain a
pattern of prompt and regular attendance. Perform other duties as
assigned to meet the needs of the business. Janitorial Area Manager
Qualifications & Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent.
(Required) Minimum 3 years management and supervisory experience in
related field, preferably facilities account management. (Required)
A valid U.S. Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving
record. (Required) Reliable transportation for business travel
purposes. (Required) Experience with, and knowledge of, cleaning
processes and equipment. (Required) Able to drive to multiple
locations in a single day. Self-motivated with a strong ability to
prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks/projects. Excellent time
management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Able to
maintain high-quality interpersonal relationships. Excellent
interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication
skills. Professional, detail oriented, organized, dependable,
trustworthy, and ethical. Willing to work weekends and be flexible
with your schedule. Accessible to our customers, after hours,
weekends, holidays and in emergency situations. Able to work
independently, with minimal supervision. General ability with
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Authorized to
work in the U.S. – We Use E-Verify Travel 75% of travel by vehicle
