Job Description Job Description Akkodis is seeking a Controls Engineering Specialist for a Contract with a client in Sterling Heights, MI. You will be responsible for developing and implementing improvements to control systems and troubleshooting automation and robotics issues. Rate Range: $40/hour to $42/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Controls Engineering Specialist job responsibilities include: Develop and implement improvements to control systems and equipment using Factory Information Systems (FIS) data. Troubleshoot machinery, robotics, automation, and control systems to resolve downtime and performance issues. Integrate controls into IT systems such as FIS, Error Proofing, QWX, and QTS. Program and reprogram automation equipment, material handling systems, and robots for engineering changes and new installations. Maintain program backups and ensure compliance with equipment safety standards through risk assessments. Lead problem-solving efforts, coordinate resources, and assist in training plant electricians and manufacturing personnel. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred. Minimum 5 years of related experience in controls engineering and automation systems. Strong expertise in Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting, with experience in CNC and automation systems.
