Job Description Staff Today is seeking a per diem / prn Dental Hygienist for a per diem / prn job in Flint, Michigan. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Dental Hygienist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Duration: Ongoing - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Per Diem Pay Rate: $60 / hour - W2 Description Job Summary: Work together with the dentist to meet the oral health needs of the patient. Provide a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. Handles a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations. These duties range in complexity and skill, and all aspects of the job require an exceptional level of customer service skills and a strong commitment to working well with patients, doctors, dental assistants, and other dental office team members. Essential Functions: - GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy equipment operation may be required. - Provide oral hygiene dental treatment and oral hygiene care and education in accordance with guidelines approved, issued, and regulated by the state in which they work. - Apply fluoride and protective sealants. Removal of calculus, stain and plaque from above and below the gum line. - Provide nutritional counseling and self-care programs to prevent disease. - Record and review patient medical histories. - Uphold office policy including HIPAA & OSHA. - Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. - Order and keep track of inventory as needed. - Other duties as assigned. Work Environment: - This job operates in a medical/clinical environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, x-rays, and phones. - This job operates in a well-lighted, sterile environment. Employees must wear gloves, masks, protective eye wear, and clothing to protect themselves and their patients from infectious disease. Physical Demands: - The employee frequently is required to talk and hear; stand and/or sit for long periods of time; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to blood and blood-borne pathogens and/or physical risks, which will require OSHA training. /nRequired Skills & Experience:/n-One year of hands on experience as a hygienist./n-Strong verbal and written communication skills./n-Some locations require GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy operational experience./nPreferred Skills & Experience:/n-GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy equipment operation experience./n/nEducation/n/nRequired Education:/n-High school diploma or GED./n-Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene school./nPreferred Education:/n-N/A/nRequired Certifications & Licensure:/n-Hold a current state issued Dental Hygiene license./n-CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross ONLY) About Staff Today At Staff Today we believe that successful organizations are a product of experienced and talented employees.
