Job Description:
Job SummaryResponsible for a large engineering project, several
smaller projects, or operational and maintenance management of
sewer, water or drain system components involving many complex
features. Represents the department in project meetings to plan and
coordinate work and makes recommendations to the Drainage Board
and/or Water Resources Commissioner regarding the awarding of
contracts as well as implementation of projects and maintenance
programs. Work requires the use of advanced engineering techniques,
computer software, and the modification and extension of
engineering theories to resolve difficult problems with limited
assistance. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific
software to complete assignments.Employees of this classification
are required to be available for operational problems, equipment
emergencies, widespread storms, power outages and other operations
and maintenance emergencies as deemed necessary by management after
normal working hours, weekends, and holidays. Also, employees in
this classification are assigned On-Call duties as required by
management.Minimum QualificationsApplications will be rejected if

capacityValid Driver's License NumberAt the time of application,
applicant must:1. Be registered as a Professional Engineer by the
Michigan State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.2.
Have had a minimum of six (6) years of full-time engineering or
closely related work experience.NOTE: A Master's degree in Civil
Engineering or related field from an accredited college, university
may be substituted for one (1) year of the experience requirement
above.NOTE: The Michigan State Board of Registration requires a
Bachelor's degree and four years of engineering experience to
qualify for registration.NOTE: Applicants possessing transcripts
from a college or university outside of the United States will be
required to provide documentation of degree equivalency from a
member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation
Services (http://naces.org/members.html). The degree evaluation
will be required for application processing.3. Possess a valid
United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license. Out
of the Country driver's license holders will be required to obtain
the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver's license before the
hire date.College Transcripts If you have completed education
higher than a high school diploma or GED, you must attach a copy of
your official/unofficial transcript(s) that clearly state the type
of degree and date awarded/conferred, institution name, and
applicant name; and is in a format that cannot be modified or
edited. Your application will not be considered for further review
if you have failed to provide this information. Transcripts from
outside the United States must be assessed for U.S. equivalency by
a NACES National Association of Credential Evaluation Services
(http://naces.org/members.html). This documentation must be
attached to your application if you are certifying you have an
education higher than high school/GED.4. Pass the complete
examination, including the employment medical, established for this
classification.5. Successfully complete the six month probationary
