Job Description:

MECHANIC Department: Maintenance Union: UAW PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF JOB Under general supervision, to perform the full range of automotive and mechanical repair and maintenance tasks to a variety of gasoline and/or diesel fuel powered buses and related vehicles including maintenance of shop equipment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with courses in general shop and automotive repair Reasonable experience in repairing and rebuilding a variety of gasoline and/or diesel fuel powered vehicles or completion of an approved four-year apprenticeship in automotive repair or its equivalent Physical strength and agility Physically and mentally capable of performing all the duties of the classification Employees in this class will be required to: Provide the tools necessary to perform the work assigned Must be able to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's license (CDL) with proper endorsements.
